Walk in Your Shoes 2022

To commemorate the 1900th anniversary of the beginning of the construction of Hadrian’s Wall we wanted to take in a walk that would explore the history of one of the Roman towns close to the wall.

This event is now closed.

“We were so pleased with the feedback from last year's walk that we had to bring it back. It was such a unique way to connect with our audiences and have creative conversations. Fresh air and walking are so important for our mental health that we really want to continue providing these walking opportunities. So please do join us, either with friends or on your own, we’ll make you welcome.”

The Experience

On Sunday 31 July 2022 from 12noon – 2.30pm enjoy some gentle exercise, and meet with new people for a chat.

Our circular route will take us approximately four and a half miles starting at the historic town of Corbridge.  The walk takes in views of the Tyne Valley; dips down to the Devils Water around Dilston, home to the ‘traitorous’ Radcliffe family; crosses the Lord’s Bridge, said to have been built with money originally raised for financing the Gunpowder Plot; and ends along the bank of the Tyne, passing the ruins of the original Roman bridge across to Coria. The walk will start and end at Corbridge railway station.

Booking for this event has now closed.
