Join us on the streets of Morpeth and meet the remarkable Dr McCavity!
Saturday 21 July 2018, from 11am - 4pm

FREE event for all the family.

Join us on the streets of Morpeth and meet Dr McCavity, November Club’s very own Quack Dentist, as he makes his way through the streets with his remarkable mobile surgery. Accompanied by his glamorous assistant Ginger Vitis, Dr McCavity takes us back to the nineteenth century when quackery of all kinds was commonplace.

Be one of the lucky few to experience his tooth-drawing skills, whilst he regales you with details from his travels across North East England. If you’re fortunate you’ll be given a very special prescription, in rhyme, to mark the 50th birthday of the Northern Poetry Library.

Dr McCavity's route through Morpeth town centre:

11.00 - 11.45am Sanderson Arcade Performance

12.00 - 12.45pm Market Place Performance

1.45 - 2.30pm Carlisle Park Performance

3.00 - 3.30pm Chantry Courtyard Performance

Part of Great Northumberland 2018 - 56 days of free arts, culture and heritage events in Northumberland. #GN18

Supported by Northumberland County Council.

The launch of the Poem of the North will also take place at The Northern Poetry Library at 2pm, based at The Chantry. This newly comissioned digital artwork will feature new poems from writers with a northern connection.
