A series of 5 original films use animation, storytelling and music to tell the story of How the Forest Came to Be. It involves a Hob (a Northumbrian Goblin), a Pele Tower, and two brothers called Ford and Etal. Each film is accompanied by a creative activity, ranging from creative writing, music, visual art, craft/making and sculpture.
We've provided two activity options with each film. The At Home activities, have been designed to be completed with minimal resources, and those that you're likely to already have at home. The Teacher Led/In-School activities involve more reading, writing & literacy elements, some extension activities, and some COVID-secure activities for groups of key-worker children who may be attending school.
While project was been created for KS2 children aged 7 - 9 years, the films as suitable for children aged 5+ and the activities can be adapted to include both younger and older children.
Please feel free to mix and match the activities you use to best suit your children and circumstances.
We hope you enjoy the project. Please do get in touch if you have any questions or queries, our Participation Producer - Louise Taylor-Asheg will be happy to help: [email protected].
