November Club, the Northumberland-based performing arts company, is not letting the Covid19 restrictions stop their creativity - the show must go on – in a Covid-safe way!

The team have re-imagined the latest performance Lost, Found and Told: New Tales of Northumberland as a collection of audio stories inspired by the Northumberland landscape to enjoy from the comfort of your own home.

The family-friendly collection of local stories inspired by traditional fairy tales draw on the rich heritage, landscape and tradition of Northumberland. As part of the production, November Club has commissioned musician and composer Katie Doherty to write two new songs. The first song is all about the beautiful county of Northumberland and she needs the public’s help.

Katie Doherty, Music Associate said “I am excited to write a song which celebrates this beautiful, ragged, spectacular, mysterious county. Northumberland is so different in its many parts. I'm so looking forward to reading what people will write in their 'Dear Northumberland' postcards and to weaving in as much as possible of our love for the landscape we live in.”

All you need to do is tell November Club in a few words what makes Northumberland such a special place to you. Post your words and/or upload a photograph of your favourite place in Northumberland on the November Club website before Friday 24 July 2020 https://www.novemberclub.org.uk/dear-northumberland

The new song will be recorded later in the summer with a local choir and will feature in the final audio recording of Lost, Found and Told: New Tales of Northumberland.

Cinzia Hardy, Artistic Director said, “I’m delighted to be working with Katie Doherty again and I hope we’ll get lots of different views of why Northumberland is worth singing about!”
